Foundation
The company founded in 2000 by Willem van Raalte, CEO of Da Vinci Europe, started as a support provider for the laboratory market. The product portfolio ranged from consultancy to maintenance of chromatographic applications.
Product range
Several successful implementations of analytical instruments, robotic systems and automated solutions for sample preparation expanded the DVE product range. Cooperating with the company ControlChrom in 2001 added a successful software product line to the company and completed the product portfolio.
As the size of our robotic systems also expanded, DVE moved in 2006 to its current location at the Cairostraat in Rotterdam. This modern building offers DVE all facilities such as an office space, a warehouse and demonstration-, test- and assembly areas for our large robotic systems.

Examples of these customized robotic systems are the automatic testing of capillary columns, the automation of NMR fat analyses and the viscosity analysis combined with a completely automated sample preparation. Leading corporations like VARIAN, Unilever and Akzo put their trust in Da Vinci Europe for implementing these systems into their analytical process.
In 2008 we integrated the activities of the company Bester, a supplier of consumables and accessories for chromatography. Adding this selection allowed us to extend the DVE product portfolio with certified chromatographic standards and consumables offered by leading suppliers such as AccuStandard, SGE and Vici.
Subsidiaries
A new subsidiary was established: RAAK Lab Informatics BV (RAAK). Managed by Eric Kooij and Martijn van Raalte this company offers software for data management and the automation of methods and procedures. A perfect addition to the current DVE solutions for analytical laboratories that would like to optimize their efficiency.
Set-up of complete laboratory in the Caribbean
Due to this wide range of products and experience Da Vinci Europe was able to furnish the complete set-up of the residue and fish treatment laboratory of the Caribbean Food Safety Institute in 2009. Starting from supplying the instruments and furniture up to including advising on the location of the systems, the capacity of the electricity and other necessary utilities. “Boosting laboratory efficiency” in its broadest sense.

DVE and RAAK are members of the Da Vinci Europe Group BV. In 2010 the Da Vinci Europe Group is extended with the companies iDQuest and TransGlobal Distributors.
iDQuest, founded and managed by Jantine Dirksen, provides software applications for controlling laboratory processes in the Life Sciences, HealthCare, Forensic and Analytical Chemical segments.
TransGlobal Distributors, established and managed by Deborah Burton, represents US Manufacturing organizations that offer innovative solutions for gas chromatography mass spectroscopy and certified calibration standards for the global petrochemical industry.

Willem van Raalte, CEO of the DVE Group, states:”It has always been our goal to offer customers high performance analytical solutions, not just products. It is great to see what has been established during the last 10 years. By making use of opportunities and by starting new cooperations we, as the Group, are able to become an even better and more experienced partner for our customers. As a result we can further optimize the efficiency of a laboratory!“.
